Drinkers will soon be able to raise a glass to the porn baron Paul Raymond with a tipple named after the so-called "King of Soho".

Blavod Wines & Spirits, which makes black vodka, was appointed distributor to a new range of alcoholic drinks called King of Soho, and "styled", the drinks maker said, "on the Soho figure and entrepreneur, Paul Raymond".

Raymond's son, Howard, is a director and shareholder of West End Drinks, which is making the King of Soho range, and also owns a 17 per cent stake in Blavod.

The first King of Soho-branded drink will be a high-quality London Dry Gin, Blavod said, and it will be available first to drinkers in the UK, Madrid and New York. It will join the other drinks in the Aim-listed firm's cabinet, which include Jagos Vanilla Vodka Cream, RedLeg Rum and Blackwoods Gin.

Don Goulding, of Blavod, said: "We're confident we can build sales volumes of this range in the UK and around the world."
