Gas competition goes south
The Government has chosen the South-west as the first in the country to have competition in the domestic gas market, starting next year. Separately, the regulator, Ofgas, is imposing tougher constraints on British Gas, as a condition of agreeing that it should not have to publish prices for business customers.
