Bunhill: Running on bread (CORRECTED)
CORRECTION (PUBLISHED 15 MAY 1994) APPENDED TO THIS ARTICLE
TODAY Peter Earl, the erstwhile chairman of Filofax and once Cosmopolitan's bachelor of the month, runs his eighth London marathon. For fortification he can rely on the delicious bread baked by veteran up-market baker and caterer Justin de Blank, supplier to Harrods and Tesco's new upmarket Metro chain.
Earl has great plans for de Blank. He has raised pounds 500,000 from a group of venture capitalists with a view of a stock market launch, possibly through a reverse takeover later this year.
CORRECTION
FINALLY, apologies: on 17 April, Bunhill wrote that Peter Earl had once been chairman of Filofax. He's never been a director, let alone chairman. Sorry.
