THE DAX index closed at another life high after spending the day barely changed. Dealers said the market took positive direction from New York when the Dow stretched earlier meagre gains and rose almost 1 per cent. The DAX closed up 0.72 per cent at 6,232.75 points. Brokers said trade remained volatile ahead of the expiry of options on Friday.
DaimlerChrysler ended up 4.34 per cent, extending its rebound from a downtrend started in late October.
