SOUTH STAFFORDSHIRE Water yesterday announced plans for a 10 for 1 share split and a change of name to South Staffordshire Group, as it reported a 13 per cent rise in pre-tax profit to pounds 24.6m, with rises in both its regulated and non-regulated businesses.

Chief executive Brian Whitty (pictured above) said the group was looking for a "more modern feel" as "on the basis that 40 per cent of our business is non-regulated we thought it was important to recognise that".
