Barratt, the housebuilder, is offering buyers of its homes a no-interest package in the first 12 months on loans up to pounds 50,000.

Bradford & Bingley Building Society is targeting first-time buyers with an additional pounds 300 cashback offer on minimum advances of pounds 3,000.

The offer is valid on the society's discounted and fixed-rate mortgages except its existing rate cashback scheme.

West Bromwich is offering free valuations on three-year fixes of 7.39 per cent APR to the end of August 1997. Maximum loan is 80 per cent of valuation. Five-year fixes are available at 8.99 per cent.
