Chase rates Pep power

CHASE de Vere, the independent adviser, assesses performance in its latest Personal Equity Plan guide. The top-performing unit trust qualifying for investment in a Pep over the past three years is St James's Place Pep Progressive (accumulation units), up more than 80 per cent over three years. Next are two Perpetual trusts, High Income and Pep Growth & Income, up 57 and 56 per cent respectively. Perpetual has a third trust, UK Growth, in the top 10, up 45 per cent. The best performance by an investment trust is from the stepped preference shares of Moorgate Investment Management's General Consolidated, up 78.3 per cent.
