There is still time to enter the Story of the Year competition run by the Independent in association with Scholastic Children's Books. Write a new short story for six- to nine-year-olds and you could win pounds 2,000, and see it in print in the Independent Magazine in June. The two runners- up win pounds 500 each, and the top 10 stories will be published in an anthology by Scholastic Children's Books in the autumn.

Stories of 1,500 to 2,500 words must arrive before 13 April at: Story of the Year Competition, PO Box 10715, London WC1A 1NA. The post code given originally in Private Life was incorrect. Please note that this is the correct post code.

For full details of how to enter, see the Independent Magazine this Saturday and read about how the modern architect John Pawson shares books with his 10-year-old son, Caius.
