Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas get matching tattoos after death of dog

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have had matching tattoos inked following the death of their dog.

On Saturday 27 July, it was reported that Turner and Jonas' Alaskan Klee Kai, Waldo, had died after being struck by a car in New York City.

According to TMZ, Waldo was being taken for a stroll by a walker when the dog broke away from his lead and ran into the street, before being hit by a vehicle.

Days after the loss of their pet, the Game of Thrones star and the musician have paid tribute to Waldo by sharing matching tattoo designs on Instagram.

"R.I.P. my little angel," Jonas wrote in an Instagram caption to accompany a picture of a tattoo depicting Waldo's face.

The tattoo seems to be situated on the singer's right forearm, alongside several other tattoos.

Turner also shared a photograph of the same tattoo design on her Instagram story.

"I miss you, Waldo. Rest in peace my little baby," the Emmy Award-nominated actor wrote.

Jonas tagged New York-based tattoo artist Keith McCurdy in his Instagram post, who goes by the handle @drag_ink on the social media platform.

McCurdy shared a selfie of himself with Jonas and Turner on Instagram, in addition to photographs of both the couple's tattoos.

"Thank you so much guys. See you again!" the tattoo artist wrote in the caption.

McCurdy's celebrity clientele includes Rihanna, Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus.

Several Instagram users left Turner and Jonas' messages of condolences following Waldo's death.

"I'm so sorry," wrote actor Jessica Chastain.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra commented underneath Joe Jonas' post with a heart emoji.

Turner and Jonas first welcomed Waldo into their family in April 2018 with an Instagram post.

Turner shared a photograph on Instagram of Waldo sitting next to his brother, Porky.

In June this year, it was reported that the celebrity couple had celebrated their second wedding ceremony in France.

The stars first wed in May in a surprise Las Vegas ceremony, before throwing a more formal affair at Château du Martinay in Carpentras, south France.

The Game of Thrones actor wore a traditional lace dress designed by Louis Vuitton for the second wedding ceremony.

The label's creative director, Nicolas Ghesquiere, shared a picture of Turner's dress on Instagram, with the caption: "Absolut beauty."
