Meghan Markle and Prince Harry: Duchess wears dress by Emilia Wickstead for final royal engagement

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are taking part in their final royal engagement for Commonwealth Day

The Duchess of Sussex is wearing an emerald green dress designed by Emilia Wickstead for today’s Commonwealth Day service.

The duchess accessorised the look with a matching hat by William Chambers and beige stiletto heels by Aquazurra.

Meghan arrived at the ceremony with her husband the Duke of Sussex, who was dressed in a navy blue suit.

Today’s event marks the last Meghan and Prince Harry will take part in as working members of the royal family before they officially step down from their roles on Tuesday 31 March.

The Sussexes will not join the Queen during the procession at today’s service, instead being conducted to their seats beforehand.

Earlier today, it was reported that the Cambridges will also not take part in the procession with the monarch, following a last-minute change to the service’s proceedings.

On Friday Meghan participated in her final solo engagement as a working member of the royal family when she made a surprise visit to Royal Clack Upper School in Dagenham ahead of International Women’s Day.

During her visit, the duchess spoke to the students about the significance of International Women’s Day, calling on a male student to address his peers about the importance of the annual event.

The school’s head boy, 16-year-old Aker Okoye, described Meghan as “beautiful” before stating: “I really am inspired that the Duchess of Sussex could even come down today and be with us and talk about how much the day of International Women’s Day means to us and how much it means to her.”
