OJ Simpson’s white Bronco to be sold by former agent on Pawn Stars

It will be the hit US show’s most famous Pawn to date

The infamous white Ford Bronco that took former star O.J. Simpson down the 405 motorway in 1994 could be yours for $500,000 (£385,742).

Currently owned by Simpson’s former sports agent, Mike Gilbert, the car will be sold on the popular US show Pawn Stars in an episode airing later this month.

The TV show is set in a family-run pawn shop in Las Vegas where owners assess which goods are real and which are fake before revealing their true value and selling them on.

The 90-minute-long chase, which concluded with the car’s owner Al Cowlings returning Simpson to his home where he surrendered to the police, was televised live worldwide.

The former NFL star was famously acquitted in court in 1995 after being accused of murdering his wife Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman.

Simpson was later imprisoned for robbery in 2008 was only was recently granted parole.

The car subsequently fell into the hands of Gilbert, who 23 years later, is now trying to sell it off for half a million dollars.

Should the sale be successful, Gilbert intends on giving the money to his children.

Pawn Star’s Rick Harrison explained why the sale might be somewhat problematic:

"I never glorify gangsters or murderers on the show and I think OJ is a d***hebag who did some really bad things," Pawn Star's Rick Harrison explained to Fox News. "I'm a dad with six kids and I'm trying to teach each of them a little bit of morality. But I felt it would be good for the show and I figured I'd give it a shot."

The episode will air in the US on 14th August.
