British carmaker to unveil limited-edition coupe at Goodwood

British luxury marque Jaguar is set to unveil a limited edition Jaguar XKR at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The automaker confirmed June 24 that the XKR 75, produced to celebrate Jaguar's 75th anniversary, will make its first appearance at the show which begins July 2.

The vehicle will boast a higher performance than the standard XKR, with a 0-100km/h time that is 0.2 seconds faster (4.4 seconds) and an electronically-limited top speed of 280 km/h.

The power of the XKR 75 has been increased from 510 PS to 530 PS and the torque has been upped from 625Nm to 655Nm.

An improved acoustics package has also been added, along with revised suspension and a newly designed aerodynamic body pack featuring extended side sills and a larger rear spoiler.

The car's exterior will be available only as "Stratus Grey," with red brake callipers, while the interior is finished in charcoal and ivory stitch leather.

Only 75 will be produced and put on sale in the UK; Germany; France; Italy; The Netherlands and Belgium from July 2010 priced from £85,500 (€103,596).

The Jaguar XKR 75 is set to share the stage with the new McLaren MP4-12C supercar which will also be making its public world debut at Goodwood.

Formula 1 stars Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton, who are both expected to attend the event, both praised the latest road-going model produced by their team at its press launch in March.
