Royal Wedding: Meghan Markle walks down the aisle in Givenchy dress to marry Prince Harry

Meghan Markle may have married Prince Harry in a stunning wedding gown designed by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy - but not everyone was a fan.

After the royal wedding, Katy Perry didn’t hold back her thoughts on the Duchess of Sussex’s dress when asked by Entertainment Tonight during an American Idol filming.

In response to a question on her thoughts of Meghan’s dress, the singer said: “I would have done one more fitting.”

“I’m never not going to tell the truth! One more fitting, but I love you,” she told ET.

Perry then went on to compare Markle’s dress to Kate Middleton’s 2011 wedding dress by Alexander McQueen.

“Kate, Kate, Kate won. Kate won!” Perry said unprompted.

Apart from thinking the Duchess of Sussex could have benefited from one more dress fitting, the American Idol host said she was thrilled for the couple.

“I’m so happy for them, and you know, I don’t know them from Adam, but it’s amazing what she’s doing with all this, her humanitarian efforts,” she said. “You know, the fact that she’s a proud feminist, I love all that. I support her as another woman and love her and wish them both well.”

After the ceremony, Markle changed into another stunning dress, a Stella McCartney halter-neck gown, which she accented with an aquamarine ring that belonged to Princess Diana.
