Twice Oscar-nominated actor Margot Robbie appeared overcome with awe when she met several former Love Island stars.

On Wednesday evening, Hollywood and reality television royalty merged at the London premiere of Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), in which Robbie plays the lead character.

As the 29-year-old stood on the canary-yellow carpet, wearing an asymmetrical, black feathered gown designed by Dries Van Noten and a pair of hot pink gloves, she exclaimed with excitement as she met 2019 Love Island contestants Lucie Donlan, Michael Griffiths and Jordan Hames.

Liz Matthews, whose PR company represents Birds of Prey’ film distributor Warner Bros, shared a photograph on Instagram of their meeting.

“Fun fact. Margot LOVES @loveisland #whoknew #canttellwhoismorestarstruck,” she wrote in the caption.

Hames shared a selfie on Instagram that he took with Robbie, writing: “I swear this one ain’t Photoshop,” in the caption.

“This is huge,” commented 2019 Love Island winner Greg O’Shea.

“Omg,” remarked fellow contestant Belle Hassan.

Donlan also posted a selfie on her Instagram Story that she took with the Bombshell star and her sister, Emily Grace Airton.

“This girl,” Donlan wrote on top of the picture, alongside a heart-eyed emoji.

The 22-year-old later shared a video on her Instagram Story showing herself, Hames and Griffiths going for drinks with Robbie after the Birds of Prey premiere.

Robbie has spoken about her love of Love Island in the past, revealing in a 2018 interview that she uses a VPN so that she can watch the programme while in America.

“We were all sitting around watching it, we were in America, and we literally screamed at the TV. Alex said Margot Robbie on it, and we were like, ‘No he didn’t, no he didn’t’,” Robbie told Heat.

“Everyone was like, ‘This is an amazing moment for you’, and I was like, ‘I know’.”
