After the conclusion of the New York International Gift Fair, the latest products for the autumn and winter retail seasons will be on display at Tendence in Frankfurt, Germany. The event, which is broadly divided into two display categories - 'living ' and 'giving,' attracts nearly 60,000 visitors and 2,000 exhibitors from around the world each year.

This event is the second of two editions of the New York International Gift Fair held in 2011. The event is open to trade professionals only and attracts around 35,000 visitors per year. Earlier in 2011 the NYIGF honored a variety of products including those categorized as 'green'. The event attracts retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers' representatives. The categories of goods on display at the show range from home furnishings to fashion accessories and dog toys.

A huge range of consumer goods from a large number of international suppliers are exhibited at this yearly trade show which attracts around 57,000 people. In 2011 the event will be divided into two main categories, 'living' and 'giving,' which are divided into further sub-sections. Some of the main themes at Tendence 2010 were 'functional furniture,' 'products with personality' and 'Gemütlichkeit' - a German term meaning to feel good and have a good time.

Chara Hobby 2011 is one of the largest annual trade shows dedicated to character goods and hobby items, with a particular emphasis on the latest Japanese manga and anime characters, as well as the broader pop-culture scene. The event will feature hundreds of booths by companies producing anime and other video software and novels.

One of the world's biggest consumer electronics trade shows, IFA 2010 attracted 1,423 exhibitors and 235,000 visitors generating 3.5 billion euros worth of orders. The event serves as a launchpad for many new innovative consumer appliances; among the products launched at last year's event were touchscreen, remote-controlled induction hotplates from Caso, the intelligent CAFFEO CI coffee maker by American firm Melitta, and Windoro the world's first automated window cleaner by Ilshim Global Co.

The annual garden industry trade show attracts around 50,000 visitors and offers insights into next year's garden trends. Last year one of the main themes of the show was 'the lounge outside,' which placed great emphasis on comfortable living room-style furniture that was suitable for outdoor use. According to a preliminary report by the fair's organizers, barbecues are this year's big trend and there has been an increase in the demand for high quality goods and big brand names.

The bi-annual luxury trade show returns to Paris in January. Unlike trade shows such as Ambiente, which is centered on mass consumer appeal and functionality as well as aesthetics, the edgy designs at Maison & Objet are aimed more towards the high-end of the home furnishings scale. Last year's event attracted over 85,000 visitors from around the globe.
