THE AVERAGE child believes chips grow in bags, milk in bottles and sausages in packets, according to a survey of those aged seven to 15 reported in Health Visitor. The survey found that 93 per cent knew how to play computer games and 61 per cent how to programme a video- recorder, but only 28 per cent could bake a potato and barely half could boil an egg. Get Cooking] is a pack aimed at showing children how to make nutritious meals. Details from: National Food Alliance, 5-11 Worship Street, London EC2A 2BH.
