HOSPITAL food is often unappetising, unpalatable, unsuitable and in many instances is left untouched, says the Patients' Association. In its new guidelines, the association says that patients should not have to choose from the menu 24 hours in advance; that fresh fruit should always be on the menu and vegetables should not be overcooked; and that patients who cannot feed themselves should be given adequate help - while the food is still hot.
