Tracee Ellis Ross made the announcement for this year’s Oscar nominations alongside actor Kumail Nanjiani wearing a bubblegum pink co-ord by Spanish brand Delpozo.

The bright-coloured two-piece is from the brand's resort 2019 collection and comes complete with fluorescent yellow tulle sleeves.

The Black-ish actor teamed her look with a wide leather belt cinched in at the waist and minimal make up.

She also opted to forgo jewellery, paving the way for her vivid jumpsuit to be the sartorial star of the show.

Meanwhile, Nanjiani opted for a classic black tuxedo paired with a black shirt.

Ellis Ross’ sprightly ensemble has prompted praise on social media, with fans comparing her to a “bright pink ray of sunshine”.

“Tracee Ellis Ross looks like springtime! #OscarNoms,” wrote one person on Twitter.

“I swear to god @TraceeEllisRoss looks more incredible every time I see her,” added another.

“I am loving @TraceeEllisRoss’s #OscarNoms outfit,” fawned one fan. “The yellow fringe” What a delight”.

It's not yet clear who designed the jumpsuit, but its tiered, netted sleeves conjure up images of a tulle gown by Molly Goddard made famous by its appearance on Jodie Comer in the BBC TV series, Killing Eve.

Many fans are now calling for Nanjiani and Ellis Ross to host the ceremony itself, which takes place on 24 February at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

“Really enjoying the #OscarNoms announcement by @kumailn and @TraceeEllisRoss – witty, straight to the point, good chemistry. Just make them the official hosts this year!” enthused one person on Twitter.

As of yet, no host for this year’s ceremony has been announced.
