Britney Spears has announced her upcoming lingerie collection for the Danish company Change Lingerie.

The 38-year-old pop star already rules the showbusiness and perfume world, but has now entered the world of underwear with her debut collection called The Intimate Britney Spears.

Spears is much more than just a singer; besides selling nearly 100 million records worldwide, she’s also released dozens of fragrances, 15 of them with Elizabeth Arden. Now, she’s turned her hand to designing with her collection of classic sets of lingerie together with vintage-inspired bustiers, kimonos and loungewear including jersey camisoles, shorts and sweats.

Spears’ designs are described to have pretty embellishments, crochet edges, satin ribbons and lace trim.

"Every woman should feel confident and beautiful in everything she puts on. My vision for The Intimate Britney Spears is to create pieces that are sexy, luxurious and comfortable at the same time," said Spears.

The collection will launch on 9 September and prices are expected to be affordable, ranging between $17 and $79 (£35 and £50).

The range will be sold on intimatebritneyspears.com in the US and Canada, and in some of the 180 Change Lingerie stores worldwide. Unfortunately, the company hasn’t got any outlets in the UK yet, but with plans of opening up to 40 stores by 2015, they could soon land in Britain.

"We are thrilled to build a global intimate apparel brand with Britney that will offer affordable luxury for every woman. With our expertise in quality and sizing, and Britney's vision for the collection, we are confident there is something for everyone to love," said Claus Walther Jensen, CEO and founder of Change Lingerie.
