McClaren believes Wolfsburg can recover
Wolfsburg head coach Steve McClaren believes that his side can recover from a slow start to the campaign to challenge towards the top of the Bundesliga.
The Wolves are currently down in 11th place in the table, having won only four of their 11 league games to date, but McClaren is still eyeing a top-five finish.
He told the club’s official website: “We have not thrown away our chances of achieving our objective for the season yet. We want to end the season in the top five.
“However, we cannot feel sorry for ourselves now, because there are a lot of points at stake in November.
“We have learnt from the past that a good second half of the season can make up for a lot.
“Many other teams are having problems at the moment and are not playing with consistency. But we have got to stick at it and keep fighting for the necessary points.”
