Want to see Raiden rip a guys spinal chord out in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance? Of course you do; though something tells me it’s safe to assume this won’t be a game pushed to forefront of those of us looking to promote gaming as an serious, mature venture… My word, it looks good fun though,

Konami’s latest trailer for Revengeance shows Metal Gear Solid 2 star Raiden protecting an African state Prime Minister during a peace-keeping visit as a rogue Private Military Company attacks. Given that the title is now in the more than capable hands of Platinum Games (Bayonetta, Vanquish) you can expect plenty of hi-octane combat (and more than a little ultra violence).

New gameplay elements on show include Raiden destroying CCTV cameras to avoid detection and hacking into enemy AI units in order to control them and stealthily eliminate foes from afar. The trailer also showcases some of the showcase boss fights that punctuate the game and introduces as-yet-unseen adversaries such as Mistral – a female cyborg, engineered with more than a dozen arms (think the classic Kali stop-motion sword fight in The Golden Voyage of Sinbad).

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is due on 21st February for PS3 and Xbox 360.
