Games Review: Bayonetta
£44.99
Format PS3, Xbox 360
Publisher SEGA
Bayonetta, a young witch with only fragmented memories, is on a quest to rediscover her past. Her journey takes her to the heavenly town of Vigrid where she finds herself under constant, violent attack by angels.
Luckily, she can summon the powers of hell to annihilate them. Bayonetta is an action game par excellence, demonstrating an astonishing artistic flair and a surprising wry humour throughout. Enemies, from angelic cherubs to gargantuan monstrosities, are fantastically visualised and the game's fluid, attack-chaining control scheme makes dismantling them a joy. An early contender for game of 2010.
