Fortnite, probably the world's most popular game, has broken.

Players have reported that the game's online service is down and so it is not possible to play it.

The problems emerged soon after the latest update, which brought with it a whole host of new features timed around the release of Avengers: Infinity War.

Servers had gone down earlier in the morning to implement that update. But it appeared to have been implemented quicker than expected, and the game came back online again soon after.

However, hours after the game appeared to break again. Users reported not being able to get online, or being hit by lag and delays once they had done.

Problems were present all across the world, according to the website DownDetector.

Fortnite has run into a series of problems in recent weeks, as it continues to hold on as probably the most popular game in the world. It is entirely based online – putting 100 players into a developing world and challenging them to stay alive for as long as possible, while killing others – meaning that server problems or scheduled update stop gameplay altogether.
