Trailer for Westworld season 2

“Why on earth would you ever be frightened of me,” asks Westworld character Dolores with a smile, belying her murderous actions in the closing moments of season one.

The full-length trailer for the hugely-anticipated second season of HBO's big-budget drama has arrived providing fresh intelligence on what's in store for characters including Bernard Lowe (Jeffrey Wright), Maeva Millay (Thandie Newton) and the mysterious Man in Black (Ed Harris).

Played out over an orchestral version of Nirvana song “Heart-Shaped Box,” viewers learn that Millay will be on the hunt for her daughter, determined not to believe she may have been programmed to do so, while Bernard tries to come to terms with what exactly he is.

The trailer also offers a look at a new theme park, Shogunworld, confirming that at least one character will be switching locations. Going by this new trailer, it looks like Maeve - whether or not that's another incarnation of the character remains to be seen.

Showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy recently teased the fate of every returning character confirming their respective predicament going into the season premiere.

Westworld returns to HBO on 22 April with the premiere arriving in the UK the following day on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV
