Top Boy on Netflix: exclusive first look featuring Sully, Jaq and Dushane

Netflix has confirmed that gritty crime drama Top Boy will return for a second season.

Top Boy originally aired for two series on Channel 4, before being revived for the streaming service last year.

Posting on Facebook, Netflix wrote: “Confirmed: Season 2 of Top Boy is happening. Dushane, Sully, Jamie and Shelley will return. Stay tuned.”

The announcement was coupled with a picture of a screenplay, revealing that the first episode of season two will be called “Killing No Murder”.

Top Boy focuses on crime and violence in the fictional Summerhouse estate in Hackney, London, and stars Ashley Walters, Kane Robinson, Micheal Ward and Simbi Ajikawo (better known as British rapper Little Simz).

The series was cancelled by Channel 4 in 2014 but interest from a handful of industry voices – including from Drake, who serves as an executive producer on the revival – saw Netflix commission a ten-epiosde reboot.

The original two series are also available on Netflix, under the title Top Boy: Summerhouse.
