Cast of The Crown spotted at Caernarfon Castle for filming of Prince of Wales' 1969 investiture

Filming continues on the third season of The Crown, with the latest leaked images showing an iconic royal moment being recreated.

Olivia Colman (Queen Elizabeth II), Josh O’Connor (Prince Charles) and Tobias Menzies (Prince Philip) have been pictured filming the investiture of Charles as Prince of Wales.

The moment – which sees all three looking dapper in their characters’ formal clothing – was being filmed at Caernarfon Castle in Gwynedd, Wales.

Colman replaces Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II for the third season, while Menzies steps in for Matt Smith. Helena Bonham Carter succeeds Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret.

Other cast members include Jason Watkins as Prime Minister Harold Wilson, Marion Bailey as the Queen Mother, Erin Doherty as Princess Anne, and Emerald Fennell as Camilla Parker Bowles.

The upcoming third season currently has no release date but is expected to launch on Netflix next year. Read everything we know about the series here.
