Strictly Come Dancing 2015 results: Carol Kirkwood leaves after failing to impress with American Smooth

She faced Kellie Bright in the dreaded dance-off

Carol Kirkwood may have improved on last week’s performance, but it wasn’t enough to save her from leaving this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

While three of the judges had been positive about her performance on Saturday night, Bruno had some harsh words about the BBC weather reporter’s dance, saying: "You're consistent Carol; I love you because you're consistent. You're weatherproof, pretty-proof and dance-proof. You're like Teflon nothing sticks, it just keeps sliding away."

Carol and partner Pasha Kovalev faced EastEnders actress Kellie Bright and her professional partner Kevin Clifton in the dreaded dance-off, marking Kevin’s first dance-off since his debut in 2013.

Both pairs performed their routines once more, with Carol and Pasha doing their American Smooth to “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” by Shania Twain while Kellie and Kevin performed their Waltz to “Love Ain’t Here Anymore” by Take That.

It was a unanimous decision from the judges, with each one voting to save Kellie and Kevin.

After hearing the judges results, Carol was asked by host Tess Daly if she had enjoyed her time on the show, she said: “Oh my goodness, it has just been the most wonderful experience ever. I will never forget this as long as I live.

“A huge thank you to everybody from the runners to the make-up, hair, wardrobe, the lovely judges and all your encouragement, the fabulous contestants, the crew but more than that to Pasha. He’s just wonderful. He’s got the patience of a saint, the best teacher in the world, a gentleman and a gentleman so thank you.”

Pasha added, “I’m so proud of you. Working with you was the most amazing experience I have had on Strictly because I couldn’t even believe that you can be so nice. People are that nice, I didn’t know that.

Seal also performed on the evening. He was joined on the dance floor by professional dancers Joanne Clifton and Giovanni Pernice. The dancers also performed a nostalgic routine to “In The Mood” by the Andrew Sisters as part of the special Remembrance Day show.
