Jeremy Clarkson has shared his thoughts on Charles Ingram after watching Quiz.

The presenter last week tuned into ITV’s drama about the 2001 “coughing major” scandal, which saw Ingram and his wife Diana found guilty of cheating their way to the £1 million jackpot on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Hosting a live quiz on his YouTube channel, Clarkson, who took over WWTBAM? hosting duties from Chris Tarrant in 2018, offered up his two cents on the Ingrams.

“I love Quiz,” he said of the three part drama, adding: “Guilty as sin, just so you know. Guilty.”

Clarkson went on to praise Peaky Blinders’ Helen McCrory for her performance as the couple’s lawyer, saying: “I know the defence attorney right at the end was extremely convincing — or the actress who was playing the defence attorney.

“I thought it was tremendous. If you haven’t seen it, do. Really, it’s worth a watch. I thought it was a tremendous job.”

Quiz saw Successions Matthew MacFadyen star as Major Charles Ingram, while Fleabag’s Sian Clifford played his wife Diana and Michael Sheen appeared as Tarrant.

Meanwhile, the real life Tarrant has escalated his feud with the Ingrams, referring to Charles as “a rotter, a cad and a bandit”.

“He was guilty,” the presenter said. “No question in my mind at all that he was guilty.”
