Moonshiners star Lance Waldroup has died, aged 30.

The bootlegger appeared on the Discovery Channel reality show between 2012 and 2018. The latest episode was dedicated to his memory.

Waldroup died at home, and his death was announced by his father, Jeff

On the official Moonshiners Facebook page, a statement read: “We are saddened to hear about the loss of Lance Waldroup. An adventurous distiller who was featured alongside his father throughout the early seasons of Moonshiners, Lance was always looking to take his flavourful recipes of ‘shine to new heights.

“He will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.”

Moonshiners is a docuseries following bootleggers as they distill liquor, including absinthe and scotch. Despite its subject, no illegal activity takes place.

A GoFundMe has been set up by Waldroups’s family to raise money for his memorial, which is taking place on Sunday (7 March).

Waldroup death follows that of his sister Lindsey, who died aged 11 and his brother, Lamar, who died aged 20.

He is survived by his father and four grandparents.
