Love Island first look: It's time to re-couple and the girls have the power

Love Island viewers are worried that Maura Higgins will quit the series after last night’s recoupling.

The Irish contestant, 28, was dealt a crushing blow after newcomer Francesca Allen decided to couple up with Curtis Pritchard despite Maura making no secret of her feelings for the dancer just days before.

Earlier that day, Maura told Molly-Mae Hague she would "pack [her] bags" and quit the ITV2 reality show should Francesca pick Curtis.

Wednesday night’s episode saw Maura passionately kiss Curtis in front of the others during a lap dancing challenge. Despite this, Curtis told her he was keeping his options open and expressed interest in pursuing things with Francesca.

Maura made her feelings for Curtis known after he decided to part with Amy, a decision that saw the contestant’s former half-girlfriend decide to leave the villa to protect her mental health.

It’s unclear whether Maura will make good on her vow to quit the show, but a preview for tonight’s episode shows her attempting to win his affections.

Despite this, Curtis could be seen hinting to Francesca he’s happy she picked him over Maura.

Watch how everything unfolds in tonight’s episode at 9pm on ITV2. Catch up on last night’s talking points here.
