Game of Thrones season 7: Lena Headey reveals how she wants Cersei to die

'No one would relish her death as much as he would'

Left in a state of shock after season six? You’re not the only one. Game of Thrones somehow managed to end on one of its biggest finales yet, with Daenerys heading to Westeros, Jon Snow king in the North, Arya ticking names off her list, and Cersei upon the Iron Throne.

Already, that latter point has led to waves of discussion online, mainly surrounding how the Lannister will fall from power. Many fans are presuming - thanks to a prophecy - that Cersei’s brother, Jaime, will end up killing the ‘Mad Queen’.

However, that’s not how Lena Headey, who plays Cersei, wants her character to go. Speaking to EW about her forthcoming story, the actor revealed that she doesn’t want her brother, nor incoming Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, Daenerys Targaryen, ending her life.

Instead, she’s hoping for a “great death by Arya.” Or, if that fails, Headey adds that Tyrion would also be a great murderer because “no one would relish her death as much as he would.”

Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos in the series, also revealed how he would like to see his character’s story end. “I don’t want a knife in the back,” he told the publication. “I don’t him blown up with wildfire. I don’t want to be poisoned.

“I think perhaps he would open a little flower shop somewhere, some begonias, tulips, and settle down with a lot of attractive women from Dorne, with lots of Dornish wine.”

Unfortunately for Cunningham, this is Game of Thrones and things barely finish as we want them to. Meanwhile, season seven has been delayed, ironically because Winter won’t come fast enough.
