Shakespearean actor Simon Russell Beale is lending a touch of class to Comic Relief by appearing in a string of comedy sketches on Radio 3 about the lives of five great composers.

Russell Beale, a regular on stage with the National Theatre, will star in Beastly Baroque on the station every day in the week running up to Red Nose Day on Friday March 15.

Other events include football pundit Pat Nevin putting on his dancing shoes for Dance Baroque for Comic Relief, a live concert from Lyons Concert Hall at the University of York where he will learn the steps of a 17th century dance and perform it in front of a live audience.
