Amazon has ordered a straight-to-series order of a new Jordan Peele-produced drama titled The Hunt about Nazi hunters living in the 1970s.

According to Variety, the drama series chronicles the lives of an eclectic group of Nazi Hunters living in 1977 New York City.

"The Hunters" realise hundreds of senior Nazi officials are planning to make a Fourth Reich in the US, and they go on a violent quest to stop the Nazis' plans.

The Hunt is an original series from David Weil drawing ideas from real-life events and is also being written by Weil.

Peele will executive produce the show under his Monkeypaw Productions umbrella with Win Rosenfeld. Tom Lesinski and Jenna Santoianni from Sonar Entertainment.

"When David Weil first shared ‘'The Hunt' with me, I immediately knew that we had to be involved," Peele said. "It's cathartic. It's noir. It’s frighteningly relevant. It’s exactly what I want to see on television. I am thrilled to be working with Amazon in bringing this incredible vision to the world."

This new series will be Peele's second project with Amazon.

He'll also be executive producing an upcoming docuseries narrating the case of Lorena Bobbit.

Peele won an Oscar for best original screenplay for his horror film Get Out.

The multi-hyphenate also co-created of the TBS show The Last OG starring Tracy Morgan.

Peele will also executive produce a revival of the Twilight Zone for CBS All Access and HBO's Lovecraft Country.
