Brienne is knighted in Game of Thrones season 8

Game of Thrones has continued with yet another episode filled with reference and callbacks to seasons of old.

With just four episodes to go until the HBO show comes to an end, showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss are continuing to dish out the nostalgia.

While low on cameos this week, the episode had a few references to George RR Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire book series and still found time to dish out a moving reunion.

It also had a pair of callbacks dating right back to the show’s first season and provided fans with an update on Arya’s hit list.

Click through the below gallery to find the 13 callbacks, book references and Easter Eggs you probably missed in “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”.

The latest episode of the series featured a controversial Arya scene that actor Maisie Williams thought was a prank when she first read the script.

The trailer for next week’s episode teases the 90-minute battle that’s being touted as the biggest ever filmed for television while a terrifying theory doing the rounds is predicting danger for those presumed safe down in the Winterfell crypts.

You can find our extensive ranking of every episode – from worst to best – here and our definitive character ranking below.
