Morphic Resonances

Donmar Warehouse, London WC2 (0171-369 1732)

Fans of the late-lamented thirtysomething, or anyone starved of intelligent comedy, should rush to see Katherine Burger's astringent, deliciously bittersweet play. The writing - full of air and marvellously theatrical - zips along, making acute, laugh-aloud observations about men and women before pulling you up short with an extraordinary emotional undertow as two couples dance around love and commitment. If the great Lorrie Moore wrote plays, they'd be like this. Closes tonight. Cancel all other engagements.
