Dronestagram reveals impressive winning photos in global pollution competition
Stunning but concerning
Social photography network Dronestagram have announced the winners of its timely competition Small Drones Big Changes and the entries are both impressive and disturbing.
Photographer and ironists were invited to submit their best aerial shots of urban or global pollution, with locations ranging from Belgium to Bangladesh, the UK to California, Germany to Lithuania.
Stand-out images include Alexandre Salem’s Village of Paracatu in Brazil devastated by a river of mud after a dam burst in the country’s biggest environmental accident, SkyPro’s wind turbines above fog and Yuyusera’s heavy pollution in Indonesia.

Show all 10The timing of the contest, open from 12 to 24 November, coincides with the opening of the Climate Change Summit in Paris on Monday.
The competition was judged on photographic quality and ability to highlight the impact of pollution on Earth, as well as opportunities to tackle the ever-increasing and concerning problem.
The ten winning photographs will be displayed in an exposition in Paris from 4 to 11 December.
