There are few things more forlorn than a comedian when the crowd's stopped listening. It's fair to say that Electric Six's appeal has become more selective since their "Gay Bar" and "Danger! High Voltage" heyday.

Which is a shame, because Dick Valentine's absurdist humour, big voice and rampaging rock disco can still be immensely entertaining. The lust-crazed "Graphic Designer" is wonderfully ridiculous, and the line "come lose your ooze upon my knee" is either disgusting, brilliant or both.

Pick of the album: Wiccan wickedness: 'We Were Witchy Witchy White Women'
