Following pretend conjoined-twin duo Evelyn Evelyn and an EP of ukulele Radiohead covers, Goes Down Under is a relatively conventional release from prolific singer-pianist Palmer.
Consisting of mostly new songs recorded in, and inspired by, Australia with the odd cover (Nick Cave's "The Ship Song"), it's mainly live, though she reunites with Dresden Dolls sidekick Brian Viglione in a studio for "In My Mind". It's touching, witty, and like everything else the Bostonian ever does, brilliant.
