Following a day of controversy, Kanye West looked set to make another bizarre move: appearing on the alt-right website InfoWars.

Writing on Twitter, Alex Jones claimed Kanye West would be appearing live from their studio to clarify his recent comments on slavery alongside commentator Candice Owens.

However, despite the claim – along with some people being duped into believing the pair would make an appearance on InfoWars – Owens affirmed that she would not be appearing on the show.

During the four hour broadcast, it soon became abundantly clear that the rapper would also not be appearing on the show, Jones soon admitting the statement was a trolling exercise.

Instead, Jones – who is currently being sued for defamation by the Sandy Hook victims – just broadcast and old interview with Owens and spoke about Kanye’s recent antics.

Kanye has recently become a favourite celebrity among republican supporters after publicly supporting Donald Trump and wearing a Make America Great Again hat.

The rapper also made controversial comments on slavery, saying: “When you hear about slavery for 400 years... for 400 years? That sounds like a choice.”

He later attempted to clarify these on Twitter, writing: "To make myself clear. Of course I know that slaves did not get shackled and put on a boat by free will." The Tweets have since been deleted.
