After a week of erratic behaviour at shows, which ultimately led to him cancelling the rest of his tour, Kanye West has been hospitalised following a 'medical emergency' at his LA home.

Kanye has reportedly been hospitalised 'for his own health and safety’ and is said to be suffering from ‘severe sleep deprivation’.

Legions of fans have been sending the rapper their support and positive energy, and many fear that his mental health issues, which he has touched upon in his music, have been flaring up recently.

It has driven people back to his Steve McQueen-directed B-side music video 'I Feel Like That', which sees Kanye sitting exhausted on the floor and repeating depression and anxiety diagnoses:

He raps the following, interspersed with the chorus line: "I feel like that all the time":

Do you experience nervousness or shakiness inside, faintness and dizziness? The idea that someone else can control your thoughts. Feeling others are to blame for most of your thoughts. Trouble remembering things, feeling easily annoyed and irritated. Feeling afraid in open spaces or in public. Thoughts of ending your life. Feeling that most people could not be trusted. Poor appetite, heart or chest pains?

Do you feel tempered outbursts, that you cannot control? Feeling lonely, even when you are with people, feeling blocked. Feeling blue, sad, feeling disinterested in things, feeling fearful. Are your feelings easily hurt? Feeling that people are unfriendly, or do you feel like people dislike you?

Do you have trouble falling asleep? Nausea, upset stomach, hot or cold spells? Numbness, tingling across your body, trouble catchin' your breath?

Unconfirmed reports claim Kanye was taken to hospital handcuffed to a gurney in an ambulance. Sources have also been cited saying he was exhausted and had been staying up for 48 hours at a time.

A rep for Kanye didn't give a reason for the cancellation of the 21 dates left on the Saint Pablo tour - his only response was the posting of 99 low-res fashion photos on Instagram.

At the last couple of shows in San Jose and Sacramento, Kanye cut songs from his set to go on lengthy rants, backing Donald Trump and calling out Jay Z and Beyoncé.
