BRIT Awards 2018: Harry Styles wins British Artist Video of the Year

Harry Styles is back with new music.

The former One Direction singer has released “Lights Up”, the first single from his second solo album.

Styles, who recently turned down the lead role in Disney’s live-action version of The Little Mermaid, has described the single as being about “having sex and feeling sad”, and the video shows the shirtless singer dancing with other topless people.

The singer’s currently untitled new album will follow on from the success of his 2017 debut. It was recorded at Shangri-La in Malibu, the studio belonging to producer Rick Rubin.

Listen to the new single below.

He recently recounted his experience of recording the album to Rolling Stone, revealing he almost bit off a part of his tongue after taking hallucinogenics.

“We’d do mushrooms, lie down on the grass, and listen to Paul McCartney’s ‘Ram’ in the sunshine,” he said.

“We were here for six weeks in Malibu, without going into the city. People would bring their dogs and kids. We’d take a break to play cornhole tournaments. Family values!”

No release date has been announced for Styles’s second album.
