My Chemical Romance returns with a new LP

New Jersey rock group My Chemical Romance has returned after a four-year hiatus with a new track from their forthcoming album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. The LP is set to release November 22.

My Chemical Romance premiered their new single, "Na Na Na," on BBC Radio 1 and Los Angeles radio station KROQ. Entertainment publication NME reviewed it as a "thrilling blast of gonzo pop-punk." The new album is the band's fourth and is the followup to their last effort, The Black Parade, released in 2006. That album topped the Billboard 200, UK Albums Chart, and Australia's ARIA, and it went double platinum in the UK and sold 1.5 million copies in the US.

Earlier this week, the band also released an album trailer on YouTube, which includes part of the new single. The two-minute clip, viewed more than 700,000 times, features the foursome dressed as hot rod heroes.

NME reports that the band has struggled in recording sessions for their upcoming album, which has been three years in the making. Frontman Gerard Way admits they hit a low point when drummer Bob Bryan quit the band earlier this year. But he says the remaining members have since bounced back. "It took a little while to figure out who and what the band is and re-embrace that, as opposed to turn our back on it," he stated.

On September 19, My Chemical Romance announced The World Contamination Tour to support the new album. The tour kicks off in London on October 23 and includes shows in the UK, France, the Netherlands, and Germany.
