Most blogged artists: The National, LCD Soundsystem, Caribou

Brooklyn indie band The National continues to be the most blogged musical act of the moment on March 29, according to The Hype Machine. Bloggers worldwide are passing around the band's new track, "Bloodbuzz Ohio," off forthcoming album High Violet. Oregon-based experimental folk rock band Blitzen Trapper and Scottish group Teenage Fanclub are in second and third.

New to the top ten this week is LCD Soundsystem, the New York dance-punk project of producer James Murphy. The group has seen considerable success with the release of its first two albums, both of which have reached the top 40 on the UK Albums Chart. Murphy and the band are now due to release a third album - what is rumored to be their last - on May 17, and bloggers are buzzing about that album's first track, "Drunk Girls." Pigeons and Planes (pigeonsandplanes.com) writes, "'Drunk Girls' has plenty of attitude and while its sonic level is 2010, it also exudes a retro call-and-response punk feel that you could comfortably fist pump to."

Caribou, the performing name for Canadian electronic musician Daniel Victor Snaith, is getting mention in the days leading up to the release of his album Swim. Bloggers are passing around the track "Odessa," which was released as a free download in January, as well as a remix of that track by Ramona Gonzalez, aka Nite Jewel, which !tashed (tashed.com) calls "a different beast altogether, albeit a shiny, glamourous one."
