Kanye West

I Am a God

This typically modest number was debuted during the Met Ball in New York earlier this week and features a distorted, auto-tuned sound that sits somewhere between 808s & Heartbreak and 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'. Skrillex will produce the version that appears on West's forthcoming sixth LP.

Laura Marling

Master Hunter

It's a cliché to say how the maturity of Marling's song writing belies her 23 years, but, on this gentle ballad about predatory males, she almost sounds like she's aiming a fiery warning-shot at today's youth.

Mariah Carey ft Miguel

#Beautiful

From the cringe-y, PR-bait hashtag in its title, one might assume Carey's new single would be gimmicky and soulless. The fact it's actually a simple slow-burning soul tune is as surprising as it is refreshing.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

Mermaids

A video for this digital-only single emerged a few days ago, with its gloomy, monochrome live footage a perfect match for the song's melancholic sound.

James Blake

Retrograde

This track, taken from his recent album 'Overgrown', was performed on the David Letterman show last week. A dark, crooned ballad, it seems likely to be Blake's next single.
