Music Box #13: Ady Suleiman

We're well underway with Music Box season 2 now.

In for session #13 is the incredibly talented Ady Suleiman, whose fans include Chance the Rapper, Michael Kiwanuka and Joey Bada$$.

Ady, who recently wrote a beautiful piece for The Independent on mental health, is back making new music and preparing to release his hugely anticipated debut album in early 2018, via Pemba Records.

He played on The Independent's stage at Kendal Calling festival, performing a bunch of tracks - some old, some new - along with a brilliant cover of "Who Knows" by Protoje ft. Chronixx.

For Music Box he performed three songs: "Not Giving Up", "Need Somebody To Love", and "Say So" - a brand new single which is being released this Friday.

Ady has a real warmth and grit to his voice, incorporating elements of soul, R&B and reggae into his music, and his live performance is an incredibly emotional thing to witness.

He recently announced a string of UK dates - his first run since a tour in 2016 that closed with a sold-out show at Scala in London - on 11, 13 and 14 November in Nottingham, Bristol and London.

Watch his Music Box session (above) and make sure you catch him at one of his live shows.

Thanks to: Ady Suleiman and his team, Hugo Simpson, Sennheiser, and The Independent video team

"Say So" - the new track from Ady Suleiman - is availble to stream now on Spotify and YouTube
