Cultural Life: Amy Macdonald, musician

Music: I have always been a fan of the Guillemots. Fyfe Dangerfield, the lead singer, has recently produced a debut solo album called 'Fly Yellow Moon'; he has the most amazing voice ever. I got an advanced copy of the new Paul Weller album, 'Wake Up the Nation', which I really like. Sometimes I just set my playlist to shuffle and listen to a lot of different songs, which always brings up some new finds. My latest discovery is the song "You're the Best" from 'The Karate Kid'.

Books: Before I went on tour, I was given the Amazon Kindle e-reader, which is amazing, as it is rather awkward bringing a lot of books on tour. Recently I have been reading the 'Twilight' series to see what all the fuss is about. There are four vampire-based romance novels by the American author Stephenie Meyer: 'Twilight', 'New Moon', Eclipse' and 'Breaking Dawn'. But the books are not as exciting as the films.

Films: We watch a load of films on the tour bus. We all watched Michael Jackson's 'This Is It', which was really amazing and it is a shame we will never get to see him perform live again. The latest movie I saw in the cinema was Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland'; I don't think it was as good as it's been hyped up to be. Although the images were gorgeous, the storyline was a bit boring. The next film I really want to see is 'Clash of the Titans', starring Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Gemma Arterton.

Visual Arts: My boyfriend has always been a collector of art. He once rang up Paul Kenton and asked him to paint a New York skyline for me. He did, and it is the first painting that has ever been painted just for me.
