Letter: Terror in Chechnya

Sir: A mere six months after the sustained bombing of Belgrade by Nato and on the eve of the anniversary of the Anglo-American bombing of Iraq last December, George Robertson and Robin Cook are wringing their hands in public over the Russian bombardment of the Chechen capital, Grozny. A classic example of the adage, "Do as we say, not as we do."

In effect Russia is now telling the West, "You did what you bloody well wanted to in Kosovo, now we'll do the same in Chechnya."
