In which painting by which painter can you find these holes?

Answers on a postcard, to arrive by Friday 24 December: DETAILS 464, IoS, 1 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London E14 5DL. Three winners will each receive a bottle of champagne

Details 462 came from John Singer Sargent's Madame X (1884). The pert stunner in the plunging black number is Virginia Gautreau, the wife of a Parisian banker, and "beauty". The painting's first showing caused offence, because Sargent had originally painted the right-hand shoulder-strap naughtily slipped off the shoulder. He repainted it, on the shoulder. But the new version is hardly chaster. It only stresses the extraordinary, writhing length of Madame X's right arm - pythonesque, polypoid, like a limb out of Fuseli. The picture is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Next week: Christmas/ Millennium Details.

The first three correct entries came from: M Kaufman, London W11; R Falby, Budleigh Salterton; C Parsons, Huddersfield
