You don’t have to be a film buff to know that The Oscars are a Big Deal. For 87 years, every big screen vixen, director and makeup artist from here to LA has aimed to get their mitts on one of those golden statuettes and this year is no different.

An Oscar is the ultimate accolade. But there are a number of films - classics, game changers, massive franchises like Harry Potter - which have been overlooked by the Academy Awards panel.
