Game of Thrones actor Miltos Yerolemou has joined the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII.

The London-based Greek-Cypriot actor, who is best known Game of Thrones’ sword teacher Syrio Forel, is not expected to play a major role according to the BBC.

Yerolemou is known to Game of Thrones fans as Arya Stark’s charismatic ‘dancing instructor’ – a code name for teaching her sword fighting.

The actor joins fellow Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne of Tarth in the Song of Ice and Fire adaptation. The actress announced in June she would join the cast in JJ Abrams’ next instalment of the sci-fi saga.

Yerolemous has previously appeared on stage with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and has recently been filming a role in a BBC adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s booker prize winning Wolf Hall.

Lucasfilm has declines to comment on Yerolemou’s casting.

Star Wars: Episode VII resumed filming last week at Pinewood Studios following a four-week hiatus after Harrison Ford reportedly crushed his leg in a Millennnium Falcon door on set.

The JJ Abrams film also stars Carrie Fisher, Andy Serkis and Mark Hamill as well as new faces including Girls actor Adam Driver and Fifty Years A Slave actress Lupita Nyong’o.
